Misty and Talia lust after Comic Con and all its wonderful little beasties, except the one who stabs people in the eye, we don’t think he’s ok at all. The Dexter Season 5 Trailer, Umbrella Academy, Goon Movie, Feminist Hulk, Little Big Planet & more Inception talk. Some possible spoilers, cause I can’t keep myself in check.
Misty & Talia talk pop culture, in nerd out for your ears. Chatting about the Wonderwoman #600 outfit fallout, the imminent Scott Pilgrim film, Batman Arkham Asylum 2 anticipation, Old Spice Social Media Bliztkrieg and how Toy Story 3 had us in tears.
I am NOT a fan of Christmas. I hate carols, I find Christmas trees to be too much hassle and the idea of giant snowflakes hanging in the local shopping mall during an Australian summer seems simply pointless to me. Everything about Christmas is a pain in the arse and I wish I could just go into hibernation from December 19th till December 30th every year, but since I can’t, I try to do something good to make Christmas a little more bearable, not only for me, but for someone in a shit situation and Child’s Play helps me do that.
I’ve always been a bit of a ‘They Might be Giants’ fan, but since the release of their new album “Here Comes Science” I’m totally enamored. Here Comes Science is an entirely fun, up beat, educational concept album. With a tracks listing like ‘What is a shooting star’, ‘My brother the Ape’ & ‘I am a Paleontologist’ what’s not to like? Dedicated to the joy of everyone’s favourite subject SCIENCE!!!! I’ve popped my favourite tune from the album up the top and I hope you enjoy meeting the elements just as much as I did
There’s a company called Computer Choppers, who will take a normal laptop, dip it in gold, whack a scratch and fingerprint resistant coating on it, and let you be the ultimate showoff. They also do platinum, chrome, rose gold, and plenty of other shiny shiny metals, and they can do it to pretty much any electronic device.
I have to say I also love the anodizing they do, which allows you to color pretty much anything in any way you can imagine, including inlaid patterns. What’s that, Apple, boring grey shuffles? I think not, muhaha
Oh and there’s getting your logo or design embedded in the surface of your electronics in diamonds. Seems like they’ll do it to pretty much anything, including PS3’s..
I have to say this is actually almost tempting, they’ve managed to make something awesome and shiny that’s somehow not tacky. The 32g iPhone (network unlocked), done in 24k gold, is about $1600 USD. One day, my pretty, one day..
Sweet mother of Geekesus! (Geek-Jesus. It doesn’t really work, does it?) This dress… I… It… Wowza! From the lovely sewing loins of ‘A Dress a Day’ who also brought us the ever popular Darth Vader Day Dress (pictures after the jump.) This really does go above and beyond, not only is a wearable and classy it’s got motherfucking Tetrads! TET-RAD-S! It speaks for itself.
Over at the UK Assassin’s Creed website, they’ve announced a novel following the story of Ezio from Assassin’s Creed II. From what I can gather from the tiny description, it seems to follow the same story as the actual game.
So, I know this is a little late, but I’ve been recovering from a weekend in my home town of Melbourne where Talia and I attended the 2009 eGames expo at Carlton Gardens. Exhibitors were lacking compared to previous years with Microsoft taking the lazy path, only having their 360 trailer in the middle of the hall. Nintendo and Sony… tsk, tsk, tsk. You don’t write, you don’t call and now you don’t even show up to eGames? I’m disappointed in you.
So the other day the God of War III gameplay demo was released (here, absolutely not for the squeamish) and I gotta say.. I really want this game.
I’m the kind of gamer that games depending on my mood. Sometimes, I want to feel godly, so I play the Sims. Sometimes, I want to escape, so I play an MMO, or I want to immerse myself in a narrative, so I play an RPG. During High School, when I was angsty, I played a lot of Unreal Tournament 3 while listening to Rammstein. For me the God of War franchise is another “mood” game, that is, when I feel like ripping limbs of things and need some truly visceral and rewarding violence, I play GoW. This is why gaming is good, it’s a cathartic outlet.
Sad thing is I lost my PS2 and Gow I and II a few years ago. Now this is coming out, taunting me with it’s high def, shiny gory sexiness. Just look at this guy! Don’t you wanna climb up him and stick a sword in his eye? Or is that just me?
Oh well, at least I know that if in March of next year I’m still without a PS3 (damn you student income), at least this probably won’t make it past the Australian Classification Board anyway, so you can all suffer in No-GoW territory with me. MUAHAHAHAH. Now who’s up for some UT3?
So we all know Lego is awesome. You can build stuff out of it, break stuff that’s been made out of it, hide it in people’s food and hope they choke on it… maybe that’s just me. Anyway, this whole trend of 80’s kids who now have power and influence making things that relive their childhood has now produced these.. Lego Headphones. I’m a little ashamed to want them. But still.. THEY COME IN PINK SQUEEE *ahem*
I can see me now, cruising down the street, getting my pimp-strut on, plugged into the sounds of pink lego bricks, with these shades perched on top of my head cos I’m too cool to need actual eye protection. Aww yeah baby, that’d be living the dream.
